Sergiu P. Pasca, MD profile page

Dr. Sergiu P. Pasca is a neuroscientist and physician at Stanford University. He is known for pioneering work in brain organoids and assembloids, after developing some of the initial in vitro models of disease by deriving neurons from skin cells obtained from patients with genetic brain disorders. Pasca’s lab also introduced the use of instructive signals for reproducibly deriving self-organizing 3D cellular structures known as regionalized neural organoids or spheroids. His lab uses these approaches to enable researchers to study disorders like autism and Timothy syndrome non-invasively.
