Terry Kenakin, PhD profile page

Professor of Pharmacology

Terry Kenakin comes from Alberta, Canada, where he did his BSc in Chemistry and PhD in pharmacology at the University of Alberta. He then went on to a postdoctoral fellowship with Nobel Laureate Sir James Black in London, England, and then on to work at Burroughs Wellcome, USA, for seven years. From there, he moved to GlaxoSmithKline where he worked for 25 years, and then to the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, where he has been professor of pharmacology for the past 13 years. His interests are in receptor theory, drug discovery and allosteric protein function.
