President, Proteomic Sciences

Dr. Zhang has served as president of the proteomic sciences business since August 2025. Formerly known as Olink, this business was acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific in 2024. She is a global veteran of the life sciences industry, with extensive leadership experience spanning business management and commercial strategy. Dr. Zhang has held various senior leadership positions at Thermo Fisher from 2001 to 2021, where she focused on advancing genomic technologies, such as next-generation sequencing and microarray platforms for clinical translational applications. This work contributed to significant breakthroughs in non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT), pre- and post-natal diagnostics, and pre-implantation genetic testing. During this period, she also led the Genetic Analysis Commercial team in Shanghai, China, from 2014 to 2017. Between 2021 and 2025, before returning to Thermo Fisher to lead proteomic sciences, she held executive roles as CEO of Mission Bio and as president of Bruker Cellular Analysis at Bruker Corporation (formerly Berkeley Lights). In these positions, she drove innovation in single-cell, multiomic technology development and commercialization. She holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the Medical College of Wisconsin. She was born in Beijing, China, and earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Peking University.
