Dr. Yassen Abbas is a biology group leader at CN Bio, where he leads a team of scientists developing organ-on-a-chip applications for ADME and human oral bioavailability. His work includes building digital twins that integrate experimental and computational data, as well as establishing a CAR-T therapy model to evaluate efficacy and safety in human-relevant systems. He began his career at the European Space Agency after completing an MEng in chemical engineering at the University of Edinburgh. He later earned a PhD from the University of Cambridge before undertaking postdoctoral research, where he developed a tissue-engineered model of the human endometrium. His expertise includes real-time sensor technology, organoids, and advanced in vitro tissue models using human primary cells. Dr. Abbas has authored peer-reviewed publications, including five first-author papers, and is named on three patent applications.
