Cerebellar Cortex of a Rat

Image courtesy of Thomas Deerinck, NCMIR, UCSD
This image shows the cerebellar cortex of a rat which has been triple stained to show the cortical DNA (blue), membrane-bound IP3 receptors (green) and glial cells (red). Using multiphoton microscopy, researchers were able to create large-scale high resolution brain maps of protein expression.
We invite you to look deep into the brain and witness the true power of the imaging techniques, courtesy of The Cell Image Library here.
