The Very Happy Roundworm

This creature may look like it's smiling, but it’s far from friendly. This is a cross-section image of the parasitic roundworm Ascaris lumbricoides, taken using darkfield microscopy. Commonly referred to as the “large roundworm” of humans, they can grow up to 35cm in length.
