3DNA Array Detection
News Dec 16, 2005
Genisphere has entered into an agreement with Invitrogen under which Invitrogen will become the exclusive provider of miRNA microarray labeling kits using Genisphere 3DNA technology.
The new Invitrogen labeling system will be sold as part of the integrated NCode™ miRNA Profiling platform that will include the NCode™ miRNA Labeling System (MIRLS-20).
Genisphere will discontinue selling the Array 900miRNA Direct Kit, Catalog Numbers MDIR180, MDIR130, and MDIR140, as of December 30, 2005.
The NCode™ miRNA profiling platform from invitrogen enables sensitive profiling of miRNAs while using simple methods that provide both experienced and novice microarray users a rapid path to new discoveries. NCode™ permits researchers to study miRNA function by allowing researchers to profile the miRNA expression patterns in a given disease or developmental state.
Analytical Tool Predicts Disease-Causing GenesNews
Predicting genes that can cause disease due to the production of truncated or altered proteins that take on a new or different function, rather than those that lose their function, is now possible thanks to an international team of researchers that has developed a new analytical tool to effectively and efficiently predict such candidate genes.

Single Gene Change in Gut Bacteria Alters Host MetabolismNews
Scientists have found that deleting a single gene in a particular strain of gut bacteria causes changes in metabolism and reduced weight gain in mice. The research provides an important step towards understanding how the microbiome – the bacteria that live in our body – affects metabolism.READ MORE
