BioClinica®, Inc. has announced that it has recently penned $30 million in multi-year contract renewals with two major pharmaceutical companies.

Collectively these engagements encompass cloud-based technologies and professional services and training across BioClinica's full eClinical product suite: OnPoint CTMS, Express EDC, Trident IRT, and clinical supplies Optimizer.

Under the contracts BioClinica will support several hundred clinical studies annually through 2017. "Large back-to-back awards like this demonstrate that BioClinica lives up to the high expectations of top tier pharma," BioClinica's President of eClinical Solutions Peter Benton said. "BioClinica technologies accommodate the high volume of studies conducted by large life science companies and enable sponsors to drive their research forward."

The contracts extend partnering arrangements that originated a decade ago. Since then, BioClinica has supported the two organizations in clinical trials across thousands of investigative sites worldwide.

BioClinica technologies create efficiencies that compress the clinical investigation timeline. "In our experience with one of these customers we have reduced study start-up time to two weeks on most of their trials and have cut close-out time to just one week," according to Benton. "Employing standards and electronic forms libraries also brings speed and efficiency, which becomes especially apparent to sponsors like this who are running high volume studies."

In the first agreement, BioClinica will provide resources and subject matter expertise in clinical supply chain distribution systems and processes that extend to several thousand investigators using Interactive Response Technology (IRT) worldwide.

In the second agreement, BioClinica's easy-to-use OnPoint CTMS and Express EDC technologies will provide the foundation for their clinical operations.

Data management, study design, and related professional services that support clinical studies globally will also be provided.

Enterprise-wide implementation of cloud-based technologies is currently underway with BioClinica employees contracted to be embedded within each organization, augmenting the pharmaceutical companies' internal resources.

BioClinica will hold its Global User Conference on May 5-7 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where the latest features of its full eClinical product lineup will be demonstrated. Customers may register online for the 2014 BioClinica User Conference.
