MBI Secures License to 'Microscale-on-Chip Valve' Technology from the UC Berkeley

Microchip Biotechnologies Inc., (MBI), has announced the signing of an exclusive license agreement with the University of California for US patent 6,623,613, "Microfabricated Liquid Sample Loading System" and related patent applications developed by Professor Richard Mathies and his team at U. C. Berkeley.

"I am delighted to have secured this license agreement with the University," said Stevan Jovanovich, President and CEO of MBI.

"It is foundational to MBI's ongoing development of a groundbreaking, nanofluidics platform for the construction of integrated devices."
