Nicholas Piramal India, Ltd. has announced the implementation of LabVantage’s Sapphire™, laboratory information management solution at the Nicholas Piramal Research Center in Goregaon, India.

Nicholas Piramal chose LabVantage’s Sapphire as a scientific discovery and research platform after a thorough evaluation of many LIMS solutions available in the market.

Mr. Harish Chawla, the Chief Information Officer of NPIL said, "We selected LabVantage’s Sapphire after evaluating many Indian and international LIMS packages and visiting a number of installations."

He added, "Some of the key reasons for selecting Sapphire were:Sapphire met today’s as well as the future needs of our R&D and manufacturing QC requirements; Sapphire is highly user friendly which required very little user training; and LabVantage has integration experience with our SAP [enterprise resource planning (ERP) system], ECMS [enterprise content management system] package Agilent’s OpenLab , and many chemical structure databases."

Mr. Anil Kastuar, President of LabVantage’s operations in the Asia-Pacific, commented, "LabVantage has successfully implemented Sapphire at NPRC in just six months."

"With our in-depth domain knowledge of pharmaceutical R&D and quality processes, and the insight of the regulatory provisions including 21 CFR Part 11 and GxP standards, we [LabVantage] offered NPRC an exceptional solution with measurable gains."
