Protagen AG has announced that it has opened an office in Chester, New Jersey, called Protagen Incorporated.

With the expansion to North America two experienced trade experts take responsibility for sales and distribution:

The US-American Howard M. Jacobson (60) has been appointed as chief executive office.

Howard M. Jacobson can look back on almost 30 years of experience in the chemical-pharmaceutical industry in Europe and in the USA, primarily working for the Celanese Corporation and Aventis SA.

During this time he held leading positions in business development and business transactions (M&A).

Jacobson holds a master of business administration (MBA) and has a bachelor degree in finance (BS).

Jacobson is supported by Rick Garretson (53) who as US Account Manager will be responsible for sales and distribution in North America.

With Garretson Protagen has engaged a marketing specialist with many years of experience in the life science industry.

For four years, Garretson headed the North American sales team of the Sartorius subsidiary Vivascience Inc

Previously he held management positions in the marketing and sales departments of Millipore and Amicon.

With the formation of the American subsidiary Protagen AG responds to the increasing demand of protein biochips for validation of antibodies produced in Dortmund. Initially the distribution is focused on the East Coast.
