SBS has announced that, presented by Dr. Al Kolb, SBS President and President of KeyTech Solutions, the SBS virtual seminar for 2006 is designed as an overview of the broad field of nanotechnology.
Physicists can move individual atoms and position them at will to gain new insights into quantum theory while biologists can use nanowires to measure the interactions of just a few molecules.
Chemists can use nanoparticles to make materials with totally different properties from larger structures of the same compounds. A soft metal becomes stronger than steel and another becomes a superconductor.
A sampling of current and potential uses of nanotechnology will be presented with a focus on biology and medicine.
