WRI Extends Collaboration with InforSense®

InforSense Ltd has announced that Windber Research Institute (WRI) has chosen to extend its collaboration with InforSense and license a customized integrative analytics platform as the basis for its next-generation translational medicine solution to be used institute-wide by informaticians, medical researchers and clinicians throughout Windber's research and discovery operations.
"The InforSense platform provides an unprecedented and comprehensive solution to the complex bioinformatics needs of the Clinical Breast Care Project at WRI," said Colonel Shriver, Chief of General Surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
Windber is using several pieces of InforSense technology including the flagship integrative analytics platform InforSense KDE, InforSense’s In-Oracle Environment (IOE) for accessing Oracle data through the workflow interface, literature analysis add-on InforSense TextSense and high performance bioinformatics add-on InforSense BioSense.
In addition, through the collaboration with Windber, InforSense developed a data warehouse for integrating clinical and experimental data, and a web interface for clinicians, which allows them to easily select patient and associated information for further analysis of treatment options.
InforSense, together with Windber Research Institute, has built a next-generation medical informatics solution for translational medicine research that integrates a wide array of traditionally siloed data sources.
From genotypes to pathology, PET scans to proteomics, data from the clinic and the lab are made available to researchers and care givers alike.
Expected results of the on-going collaboration will be to further streamline data integration of both clinical and experimental data, continue development of analytic workflows, as well as to create new web-accessible data presentation tools for clinicians and clinical researchers.
