Argonaute 1 regulates germ cell division and oocyte determination in Drosophila melanogaster
We find that Ago1 protein is be enriched in the oocytes and also distributed in the cytoplasm of follicle cells. Using mitotic clonal analysis, we analyze multiple ago1 mutant alleles. Here, we find that the oocyte do not form in many mutant clones and they only have 8 nurse cells. These results indicate that the level of Ago1 affects the number of cystoblast divisions and oocyte determination.

Immunomodulatory Properties of Adipose-Derived Stem Cells Cultured in Autologous Serum
This study investigated whether adipose-derived stem cells (ADSC), cultivated in the medium containing autologous serum, maintain immunomodulatory properties of MSC. Obtained cells were CD73, CD90 and CD105 positive but CD34 and CD45 negative. ADSC underwent in vitro differentiation into adipocytes, osteoblasts and chondroblasts. Immunomodulatory properties of ADSC were investigated by blast transformation reaction and significant suppression of T lymphocyte proliferation was induced in a dose d

Development of cell culture system on the basis of adult stem cells for modeling of HBV infection
Efforts to elucidate the mechanisms by which HBV infects hepatocytes and causes liver damage have been hampered by the strict virus host range and a lack of suitable cell culture and animal models of HBV infection/replication. The present study has established and elucidated a novel HBV infection/replication in vitro model system based on adipose-derived stem cells differentiated into human hepatocyte-like cell line.

Specificity of small molecule inhibitors for deubiquitinating enzymes in living cells assessed by activity-based proteomics
Small molecular compounds (PR-619 and P22077) was assessed for their abilities to inhibit DUB function in crude extracts and in cells. Activity-based profiling combined with quantitative mass spectrometry revealed the inhibitory capacity of a broad range of DUBs by the PR-619, whereas P22077 showed specificity towards subsets of DUBs including USP7 in cells. Our results demonstrate the usefulness of activity-based quantitative proteomics to monitor inhibition of endogenous DUBs in vivo.

The role of a light-upregulated NF-YB member in photosynthesis and development in Triticum aestivum
NF-Y TF is a heterotrimeric complex comprised of the three subunits: NF-YA, NF-YB and NF-YC. In plants each subunit is encoded by multiple genes with different mRNA expression profiles among plant organs, and in response to developmental and environmental stimuli.
