An investigation into the effects of aging on automotive bumper samples by xylene soluble flow injection polymer analysis (XS-FIPA)
This poster describes the use of flow injection polymer analysis (FIPA) as an analytical tool for xylene soluble (XS) determination with quick and easy simultaneous measurements of molecular weight (MW), intrinsic viscosity (IV) and XS%. The technique was applied to automotive bumper samples which had undergone an aging test. The results from the XS-FIPA technique highlight the differences caused by the aging process.

Phenotypic Screening Applied to the Anti-biofilm Drug Discovery: Identification of Anti-biofilm Flavonoids from a Chemical Library
This work represents a systematic exploration of a flavonoids collection for the inhibitory activity against Staphylococcus aureus biofilms and offers an improved methodological workflow for anti-biofilm screens of chemical libraries taking into account the connections between anti-biofilm and antibacterial properties.

Peanut Allergy: An epidemiologic analysis of a large database
Over three years, 700 children with a peanut story - either peanut sensitization or peanut allergy- were asked to participate in a database.

Single Practice Six-Year Experience Treating Food Allergy With Oral Immunotherapy
We report a more-than-six-year experience with food oral immunotherapy (FOIT) in a private allergy practice setting. Most patients can be desensitized to one or more allergenic foods. Ongoing evaluation and modification of the FOIT procedures improves outcomes and acceptability. FOIT can be successfully performed in an allergy office.

Tolerance to Allergenic Foods Following Food Oral Immunotherapy (FOIT)
We report on 21 patients who completed FOIT (food oral immunotherapy) escalation followed by a period of maintenance dosing and later underwent a tolerance FC (food challenge). 90% of tested FOIT patients and 94% of patients who met our pre-defined criteria for tolerance FC achieved tolerance to their allergenic food.

Microbial Regulation of IgE Production in Early Life
Changes in gastrointestinal microbiota have been suggested to drive the increasing prevalence of food allergy. Our aim was to determine the impact of mouse and human intestinal microbiota on modulation of allergic parameters including IgE.

Ocular papillary changes on the caruncle surface in allergic conjunctivitis
The caruncle is small, pink, globular nodule at the inner corner of the eye. We found the papillary changes of the caruncle corresponds to changes in palpebral conjunctiva seen in allergic conjunctivitis. There may indicate a greater inflammatory response in the caruncle resulting in greater itching in the nasal corners of the eye. Allergists can easily assess the caruncle.

Association between asthma-related emergency department visits, meteorological measurements, and air quality concentrations in the Bronx (2001-2008)
Evaluate the association between asthma-related emergency department visits (AREDV), meteorological measurements, and air quality concentrations in a high asthma prevalence area, the New York City borough of the Bronx.

Ten-Year Experience with Sublingual Immunotherapy for Juniper Pollenosis
Efficacy of sublingual immunotherapy for Juniper induced allergic rhinitis is presented.

Marked increase in basophil activation during non-anaphylactic allergic reactions to peanut in man
Our data imply an important role for basophils in the evolution of acute IgE-mediated reactions to food allergens.
