Autoscribe’s Matrix Gemini Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) has a dual Web/Windows user interface that provides a high degree of flexibility. The OneTime Configuration Tools on the desktop client ensures that any screen that has been configured for use on the desktop is immediately available, with appropriate security, to a user running a Web browser. This versatility means that just a single configuration is needed for both desktop and Web use with no further modification, effort or cost. The Web-based implementation means that system access is not restricted to the actual laboratory sites—it is available from any location that has Web connectivity. This provides access to sample/batch status, results, reports, trend lines and/or comments on samples/batches. In addition, samples can be registered remotely and tracked globally. The Web browser user interface runs on a Microsoft IIS server and offers both internet and intranet solutions. It can be deployed globally via Citrix as well as the Web.
