KREATECH Biotechnology has announced the expansion of their gene expression product line to incorporate ULS amplification and labeling kits for specific use on CombiMatrix microarrays for all Kreatech’s current aRNA labeling kits and RNA ampULSe amplification and labeling kits.
These formats are aimed at providing more specific kit formulations to CombiMatrix® platform customers. Kreatech has made available several different formats to offer additional options to the customer.
These include two color formats with Cy3 and Cy5, one color formats with either Cy3 or Cy5 and also kits with biotin ULS with the option of Streptavidin Phycoerythrin (SA-PE) detection reagent included.
SA-PE is a conjugate between streptavidin (binds to biotin) and phycoerythrin (bright fluorescent protein) that is used for detection of biotin labeled samples.
The CombiMatrix® formats offer the same proven ULS technology and simple protocol in a kit that is more suited to those customers that work with CombiMatrix® gene expression microarrays.
While these kits are formatted for convenient use on CombiMatrix microarrays, ULS is platform independent they will work on all fluorescent and biotin platforms.
“This broadening of our product offering gives more choice to our customers based on the platform they are using. Additionally, we provide the SA-PE reagent in our Biotin kits which none of our competitors offer.
This product release of Combimatrix labeling kits is consistent with our strategy of providing complete amplification and labeling kits to our customers, regardless of the platform they use,” says Brent Keller, General Manager of Kreatech USA and Vice President Commercial Operations.
KREATECH’s ULS technology relies on the special binding properties of platinum, to form coordinative bonds with biomolecules by binding to specific sites on DNA, RNA and proteins.
In this way, ULS acts as a relatively simple “molecular glue” for DNA, RNA and proteins. As a result of its versatility, customers have a choice of the molecular label attached to the ULS they can use to label the biomolecules of interest.
