LabSmith, Inc., has entered into an agreement to distribute selected microfluidic chips manufactured by microfluidic ChipShop GmbH. The chips are fully compatible with LabSmith’s CapTite™ microfluidic interconnection products, making it extremely easy for researchers to build and re-build microfluidic circuits, including world-to-chip connections.
“This new partnership between LabSmith and microfluidic ChipShop represents excellent value for our customers,” said Yolanda Fintschenko, Director of New Technologies, Marketing and Sales for LabSmith. “microfluidic ChipShop has chips which are designed to integrate easily with LabSmith’s CapTite™ products. For the first time researchers are able to purchase everything needed for micro- and nanofluidic experiments, from a single source.”
The microfluidic ChipShop chips available through LabSmith include several widely used formats including the standard injection T and straight channels. The chips include ports that mate directly to LabSmith’s CapTite™ interconnection products. The low-cost chips are available in the polymeric materials TOPAS or PMMA.
LabSmith’s CapTite™ microfluidic interconnect products are fully compatible with the microfluidics ChipShop chips. Based on components designed at Sandia National Laboratories, CapTite™ products include valves, interconnects, refillable cartridges and fittings for use with 360 micron, 1/16” or 1/32” tubing. Breadboard-based CapTite™ products make it easy to build simple or complex fluid circuits and world-to-chip interfaces.
The microfluidic ChipShop chips will also be sold as part of LabSmith’s LabPackage, a complete microfluidics laboratory kit that also includes: the HVS448 High Voltage Sequencer; the SVM340 Synchronized Video Microscope for real-time visual monitoring and video capture; SPS01 Programmable Syringe Pumps to deliver precise volumetric flow rates, and a comprehensive set of CapTite™ components for building and re-building micro- and nanofluidic setups.
