The GCMS-QP2020 NX comes equipped with a new large-capacity turbomolecular pump with heightened exhaust efficiency. This significantly improves performance of the instrument when operated using not only helium and hydrogen but also nitrogen. A high-performance ion source and ion optics enhance ionization and transport efficiency. The system features an improved temperature control function that enables more precise oven temperature and three new cooling rate levels, while its Advance Scanning Speed Protocol (AASP) achieves speeds up to 20,000 µ/second across all masses.
With the GCMS-QP2020 NX, users can easily switch between EI and CI methods using the Smart-CI source, a method creation function that automatically configures the SIM program to suit the retention times. LabSolutions Insight software, which greatly reduces the time needed for analyzing data, and databases with retention indices specific to a variety of application fields, are available, enabling dramatic improvement in the efficiency of multicomponent simultaneous analysis.
For ease of maintenance, the GCMS-QP2020 NX incorporates ClickTek™, a mechanism that allows tool-free attachment and removal of consumables. Maintenance-reducing features include a sample injection port that users can open and close without using tools and a column oven with a light that illuminates the immediate area.
In addition, the GCMS-QP2020 NX improves operating efficiency by reducing standby time. With conventional GC-MS, the operator must check the system during startup, shutdown, maintenance and tuning. In contrast, the GCMS-QP2020 NX is equipped with an active time management function, which enables control of the total system operating time and shorter standby time, while automating verification operations.
