Influenza Infection and Diagnosis in 2024–2025
Fill out the form below and we'll send your colleague an invitation to the "Influenza Infection and Diagnosis in 2024–2025" event.
In recent years, respiratory viruses have played an outsized role in medical practice, especially in light of the pandemic experience of COVID-19. However, as the latter virus has transitioned to a state of global endemicity – together with a sharp decline in severe clinical outcomes – other traditional respiratory pathogens are reasserting their prominence.
In this presentation, Dr. Jonathan Edward Schmitz will discuss the recent trends in human influenza infection, including how the current respiratory season compares with recent years. In conjunction, he will review recent advances in laboratory diagnosis, epidemiological surveillance and clinical management of influenza A and B.
In this comprehensive session, Dr. Schmitz will:
- Review the general microbiology and epidemiology of human influenza infection
- Compare the current influenza season with previous years
- Highlight the interplay between influenza and other respiratory viruses in terms of laboratory diagnosis and clinical management
- Explore the potential threat of avian influenza
